FAQs

What type of joinery do you make?

We specialise in making interior fitments for private homes, such as: wardrobes, dressing rooms, vanity units, medicine cabinets, library bookcases, alcove cabinets, media units, bunk beds, bed nooks, boot rooms, wine cellars, coat cupboards and under stairs storage.

Where is your Workshop?

Our Workshop is in the beautiful historic town of Rye in East Sussex.  We have been in our current workshop since 2009 and in early 2024 we will be moving to a smart new Workshop just outside Rye.  All our joinery is handmade to order, allowing us to create a truly bespoke item for you.

What areas do you cover?

We create beautiful joinery for clients across London, and in Hampshire, Surrey, Kent, West Sussex and East Sussex.

How long does the process take?

The answer is: it depends.  Generally, the quickest turnaround from initial enquiry to completion of fitting is 6-8 weeks.  This would be for one or two items of joinery, with a very decisive client and a favourable opening in our production schedule.  The timing depends on the amount of joinery required, the more items the longer it will take us to drawn and finalise the designs.  If the joinery is going into a renovation project we will only be able to get final measurements once the space is ready, which will be down to the contractor.  If the joinery is not part of a larger project we should be able to take fairly accurate measurements in our initial site visit.  Our lead time fluctuates depending what other projects we are working on.  Building projects are notorious for running behind schedule, so we are often able to squeeze smaller projects in, if there has been a delay in one of our larger projects.  If you have a specific deadline that needs to be met, do let us know and we will do our best to help if it is feasible.

I don’t have an interior designer, can I still work with you?

Yes! We do work with a lot of wonderful interior designers, but we also work directly with private clients.  Do get in touch if you have a project in mind, however large or small.

Help, I don’t know what I want! Are you able to guide me through the process?

Yes, we are used to working with clients who have not commissioned bespoke joinery before.  We will explain each stage as we go and are happy to answer as many questions as you have.  You are also welcome to visit our Workshop if you want.
